Former Liberty baseball infielder Tony Beasley is enjoying a winning season with the Texas Rangers. Beasley is in his ninth year as the third base coach for Texas and recently dropped by the Liberty Flames Podcast to share his story.
"I didn't even think that I would ever even be in the major leagues. I thought that I would be a career minor league manager or a coordinator. Those things I kind of envisioned in my mind and the rest is just walking by faith. God whatever it is you have, opportunities you allow and doors that you open I just want to be willing and able to walk through those doors."
Beasley served as interim manager for the Rangers last year and was retained by Bruce Bochey, who was hired before this season. The Rangers are currently in first place in the American League West.
