Time now for today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, April 9, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Flames softball team is in Charlottesville tonight as Liberty takes on No. 24 Virginia. First pitch is at 7 p.m. The Lady Flames are looking for their third win over a ranked team this year. Liberty Head Coach Dot Richardson says it's a good opportunity.
"They're having a strong year this year with good pitching in the circle and that's what we need to see. We were at Virginia Tech, saw it as well, gave a great fight there. We left some runs on the bases – this time, let's see how we respond."

And from men's golf, after day one of the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial, Liberty has two golfers inside the top 20. Brett Reid and Isaac Simmons are currently tied for 18th at the event, hosted by 12th ranked Virginia. As a team, the Flames are in 12th place entering today's final round.
