Flames football remains unbeaten after four games and a big reason why is the run game. The Flames are second in the nation averaging 271 rushing yards per game. Duquesne transfer Billy Lucas scored a touchdown and was one of two running backs with more than 100 yards in last week's win at FIU. Lucas says the team is believing in the new scheme and the game plan.
"Everybody's bought in. You know, as everybody knows, these are new coaches. We've got a lot a new players but everybody's really bought in. Like, it's really a family. We're close as ever. Only getting closer each week every week. So, everybody's bought in. Everybody listens to their coaches. Everybody listens to each other. Everybody's bought in. It's really a brotherhood. It's a family, for sure."
Liberty will host Sam Houston in a Conference USA game next Thursday, October 5th at seven o'clock.
And tonight, the Flames soccer team opens Ohio Valley Conference play at home. Liberty will face Chicago State at seven o'clock. Admission to Osborne Stadium is free.
