Liberty Football Head Coach Jamey Chadwell is now on this year's Bear Bryant Award watch list. The annual award goes to the top head coach in college football. Chadwell was named a finalist for the same award in 2020. Tuesday, Liberty came from behind in the second half to beat Middle Tennessee, 42-35, as Chadwell's Flames moved to 7-0.
"Well, I think our team's resilient, obviously, and I think they're buying in to what we believe in and what we preach. You know, we almost learned a valuable lesson. We got really close to touching that fire and it about cost us and hopefully, I'm glad we're learning in a win, that we have to learn how to practice and not take things for granted."
Liberty will travel to Western Kentucky next, Tuesday night.
And tonight, the Liberty men's soccer team hosts Lindenwood in an Ohio Valley Conference match. Game time is at 6 p.m. at Osborne Stadium in Lynchburg.
