This is your Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Thursday, October 12, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
Liberty is one of just 14 unbeaten college football teams remaining in the nation. The Flames got a Conference USA win on the road Tuesday, 31-13 over Jacksonville State. Sophomore linebacker Joe Carter had 11 tackles and helped the Flames improve to 6-0.
"We've been through a lot this year from fall camp all the way to playing six games and winning all six. So, we've been through a lot and we're a young team but we all want to grow together and be able to be the best we can be. So, talking to each other, making sure each other's mental is straight and we all came into the game just ready to go."
The win makes the Flames bowl eligible for a fifth straight year. Liberty will host Middle Tennessee next Tuesday night at seven o'clock.
Tonight, the Liberty women's soccer team hosts Jacksonville State in a CUSA match-up. Game time is at six p.m. Eastern at Osborne Stadium in Lynchburg. Admission is free.
