Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Thursday, October 10, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
After Tuesday's thrilling overtime win, the Liberty football team enters a bye week unbeaten at 5-0 and 3-0 in Conference USA. Liberty let a 14-point lead over FIU slip away in the fourth quarter Tuesday but an overtime touchdown run from Kaidon Salter followed by a game-ending turnover from the defense, gave the Flames and head coach Jamey Chadwell the win.
"We've got to learn how to finish. We've got to learn how to not beat ourselves in certain situations. But I was pleased that we found a way to win. We got in to overtime and nobody on that sideline had any doubt. Like, we they knew they were going to win. I think the other sideline was hoping. We were knowing, and there's a big difference in that."
On to soccer, the Liberty men are on the road today taking on Western Illinois in an Ohio Valley match at 4:30 Eastern. The Lady Flames are also away facing Sam Houston in a Conference USA game at 7:30 Eastern. That game is on ESPN+.
