Time now for today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Thursday, March 7, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Flames lacrosse team picks up a win against the ACC. Wednesday, in Lynchburg, Liberty edged Pitt, 20-17. Cami Merckle and Jordan Shieve each had four goals for the Flames. Liberty is now 2-0 all-time against Pitt.
From women's hoops, Wednesday – Middle Tennessee remains undefeated in Conference USA with a 67-52 win at Liberty. Bella Smuda had a double-double for the Lady Flames with 17 points and ten rebounds. Liberty's now 10-4 in CUSA, tied with FIU for second place. Liberty closes out the regular season on Saturday at Western Kentucky.
And Liberty swimmer Kamryn Cannings is going to the NCAA Championship meet. Cannings has been selected to compete in the women's 100 fly and the 200 fly. It's the eighth time in 14 years at least one liberty swimmer has gone to compete at nationals.
