With the NCAA's recent agreement to terms of a settlement that paves the way for revenue sharing with student-athletes, it's likely that athletes could soon be paid for playing their sport. On a recent Flames Central podcast, Liberty Athletics Director Ian McCaw was asked how he thinks revenue sharing should be implemented.
"I think we have a centralized model where the NCAA and the conferences come up with a predetermined revenue sharing. They figure out Title IX and they allocate the funds to student-athletes. Thereby, the schools don't have to make some of those difficult decisions. That would help us a great deal. So, really, we continue to have a collective. We continue to have NIL but everything from a revenue sharing standpoint would be determined nationally and through the conferences. That would be the best outcome."
