Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Thursday, January 16, 2025, I'm Nick Pierce.
First in men's hoops – Liberty returns home to face UTEP in a Conference USA match-up, tonight at Liberty Arena in Lynchburg. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. Eastern. The Flames are 2-2 in the conference and the Miners are 2-1. Liberty Head Coach Ritchie McKay with his biggest concern from UTEP.
"Yeah, they're number one in the country in turning people over, and number, I don't know, top five in the country at scoring off those turnovers. So, obviously taking care of the ball will be paramount. They beat us twice last year, so, they'll come in here with a great sense of confidence and all that. So, we'll have to do a good job of executing our system in order to hopefully have a chance to go 1-0."
And the Lady Flames play at UTEP tonight. Tipoff in El Paso is also set for nine o'clock Eastern. Liberty is 3-1 in the conference and UTEP is 1-2. You can hear both games tonight on the Liberty Flames mobile app.
