Conference USA football postseason awards are in and Liberty has multiple winners. On Wednesday, Jamey Chadwell was named Co-Head Coach of the Year. Quarterback Kaidon Salter was named the conference MVP. Running back Quinton Cooley was named conference Newcomer of the Year and linebacker Tyren Dupree was named the CUSA Defensive Player of the Year.
The 23rd-ranked Flames are 13-0, conference champions and are preparing to meet No. 8 Oregon in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl on January 1st. Details on tickets, merchandise and everything fans need is at www.LibertyFlames.com/bowlcentral.
Also, in addition to Wednesday's award, Chadwell is one of 12 finalists for the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year award. Other finalists include Alabama's Nick Saban, Washington's Kaleb Deboer and Texas' Steve Sarkisian. Chadwell won the Eddie Robinson award in 2020.
