Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Thursday, August 29, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
We're now just two days away from the Flames football season opener. Liberty will host Campbell on Saturday night at 6 p.m. Eastern in Lynchburg. Quarterback Kaidon Salter was asked what he's expecting to learn about the offense in week one.
"We're just going to have to go out there and see. I mean, last year nobody knew what was expected from us. Same thing, Coach kind of told me this the other day, and I was like, 'yeah', I mean last year nobody knew we were fixin' to go out there and go 13-0. We didn't know the team that we had the first game. Last year, we just got better and better each game, so, hopefully this year we come out and do the same thing."
Last year, Salter had a school record 32 touchdown passes and threw for 2,800 yards. Williams Stadium gates open on Saturday at 4:30.
