It's game day for Lady Flames soccer! Liberty heads to VCU tonight for it's season opener. Game time is at 7 p.m. High expectations are on the Lady Flames this year as Liberty is the preseason favorite to win the Conference USA title and the team returns eight starters from last year. Tonight's game is on ESPN+.
Former Liberty Flame Darius McGhee is joining the Indiana Pacers on an Exhibit 10 contract. McGhee becomes the fifth player in Flames basketball history to sign an NBA deal and is looking to become just the fourth Flame to make an active roster in season. Exhibit 10 deals are for one year and can be converted to two-way contracts before the start of the regular season.
And Flames football Fan Appreciation Day is on for Friday night at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg. The event begins at 5 p.m. and admission is free. The team will scrimmage, there'll be inflatables for kids and fans can meet the team after the scrimmage for autographs and pictures.
