Time now for today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Thursday, April 18, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Flames men's basketball program is adding two new signees. Forward Owen Aquino and guard Taelon Peter are joining the Flames for the upcoming season. Aquino was a junior college All-American at Eastern Florida State, where he averaged 15 points last season. Peter played guard at DII Arkansas Tech and led his team with 19 points per game while shooting 40 percent from three-point range.
On to softball results from Wednesday – North Carolina escaped Lynchburg with a 2-1 win over Liberty. The loss snaps a six-game winning streak for the Lady Flames. Next, Liberty will host New Mexico State in a three-game Conference USA series beginning Friday.
And Flames baseball is on it's way to Bowling Green, Ky. today. Liberty will practice tonight before facing WKU on Friday to open a three-game Conference USA series. Friday's first pitch is set for 7 p.m. Liberty enters the weekend with a one-game lead over WKU for first place in the standings.
