Time now for today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Thursday, April 11, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Starting with baseball from Wednesday night, No. 16 Virginia Tech topped Liberty, 13-3 in Blacksburg. The Flames end their road trip at 2-2 and return home to Jacksonville State in a three-game Conference USA series this weekend. Game one is Friday night at 6 p.m.
The Flames track & field team is competing in five different meets this week. A group of throwers will appear in the Pacific Coast Invitational today in Long Beach, Calif. and others will be in the Jim Busch Legends Invitational at UCLA on Saturday. A few distance runners will race the Bryan Clay Invitational in California and everyone else will split time between the Virginia Grand Prix in Charlottesville and the Dennis Craddock Classic in Lynchburg. And the Lady Flames lacrosse team is at home hosting fifth ranked Notre Dame today at one o'clock. Admission to the game is free on Liberty's East Campus.
