Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, September 2, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Flames football opens the season with a win at home. Saturday night, Liberty topped Campbell, 41-24 at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg. Kaidon Salter threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Liberty opens Conference USA play at New Mexico State this Saturday.
From women's soccer on Sunday, Liberty shutout Longwood, 3-0 in Lynchburg. The Lady Flames now move to 6-0 on the season.
From men's soccer, a late goal from Georgia State edges Liberty in a 2-1 game at Osborne Stadium in Lynchburg.
On to field hockey – the Lady Flames sweep their weekend games in Ohio. No. 11 Liberty downed Kent State on Sunday, 4-1. Liberty opened the season on Saturday with a 2-1 double overtime win against Indiana.
And Flames Head Volleyball Coach Nolan Albrecht has his first career win. Saturday in Puerto Rico, Liberty defeated Akron, 3-1.
