This is your Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, October 16, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Liberty Flames are one of 11 unbeaten college football teams remaining after this weekend. Tomorrow night, Liberty will look to get to 7-0 when it hosts Middle Tennessee in a Conference USA match-up. Kickoff is at seven o'clock at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg. Gates open at 5:30 and Flames Fan Fest begins at 4:30 at the stadium indoor practice facility.
Recapping the weekend for Flames athletics – first in women's soccer, Sunday - the Lady Flames picked up a 2-1 Conference USA win at UTEP. Liberty got the go-ahead goal from Ivy Garner in the 81st minute.
From field hockey on Sunday – the seventh-ranked Lady Flames picked up a 3-2 win over JMU in Lynchburg. Liberty moves to 14-1 on the year, extending it's best start in school history.
And from men's soccer on Sunday – Liberty gets a 1-1 tie at Southern Indiana in an Ohio Valley match-up on the road. The Flames are now 3-2-1 in the OVC.
