Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, November 20, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
Beginning with men's hoops – Liberty improves to 5-0 on Sunday with a 71-61 win over Vermont. Zach Cleveland dropped a career-high 21 points with nine boards to lead the way against the Catamounts. With the win, the Flames sweep the Myrtle Beach Invitational. Liberty also had wins over Wichita State and Furman.
Flames football remains undefeated, now at 11-0. Saturday, Liberty throttled UMass, 49-25 at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg, setting a new single-season program record for wins with 11.
Sunday, Liberty moved up in the AP top 25 to No. 22. The Flames also entered the Coach's Poll for the first time this year, also checking in at No. 22. Now, the Flames will wait to see if they can break into the College Football Playoff rankings. Those will be updated tomorrow night.
Liberty will close out the regular season this Saturday at UTEP. Kickoff's set for 3:30 Eastern.
