Time now for today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, May 13, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Flames Athletics brings home three Conference USA championships over the weekend. Sunday, the Liberty softball team found out it's going to the Athens Regional at Georgia – this just one day after the lady flames won the CUSA title. Liberty defeated Western Kentucky, 4-3 in nine innings to claim the championship. Liberty will face Charlotte on Friday in the first game of the Athens Regional.
Also Sunday, the Flames men's and women's outdoor track and field teams both captured Conference USA championships. It's the 17th straight team outdoor title for Liberty's men, the longest streak in the nation. Liberty is the first CUSA school since 2005 to win the men's and women's indoor and men's and women's outdoor titles in the same year.
And the Liberty golf team begins play today at the Stanford Regional. Follow @LibertyGolf on social media for updates.
