Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, March 31, 2025, I'm Nick Pierce.
Recapping the weekend, first, Lady Flames softball is now 11-0 in Conference USA. Saturday in Lynchburg, Liberty swept a doubleheader from UTEP, winning the first game, 2-1 and the second game, 11-1. At 31-6, the 11-0 conference start is tied with Tulsa for the best in CUSA history.
On to baseball, the Flames dropped two of three in it's weekend conference series at Jacksonville State. Liberty came from behind to win the series opener Friday, 9-8 in extra innings.
Three former Flames are now active on Major League rosters. Sunday, left-hander Mason Fluharty was called up to the Toronto blue jays, where he joins former Flames infielder Will Wagner. Also, pitcher Fraser Ellard made the opening day roster for the Chicago White Sox and tossed a scoreless inning against the Angels on Sunday.
And Lady Flames lacrosse stays unbeaten in the Atlantic Sun, after Liberty's come-from-behind, 18-17 win at Queens on Saturday.
