Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, March 10, 2025, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Flames are the No. 1 seed in both the men's and women's Conference USA basketball tournaments this week. Liberty's men clinched the regular season title and the top spot on Saturday with a 90-61 win at Western Kentucky. It's the Flames' sixth regular season title in the last seven years.
The Lady Flames earned a share of it's regular season title on Saturday with a comeback win at home as Liberty edged Western Kentucky, 74-70. The Lady Flames get the No. 1 seed by tiebreaker with Middle Tennessee.
Both CUSA tournaments are in Huntsville, Ala. Both teams will play quarterfinal games on Wednesday.
And from baseball, Sunday, Liberty capped a three-game sweep of Central Michigan with an 8-2 win in Lynchburg. Next door, Sunday, the No. 22 ranked Liberty softball team finished a three-game CUSA series sweep of Kennesaw State, with a 13-0 win.
