Liberty graduated swimmer Heather Gardner officially closes out her career with an appearance at the U.S. Olympic Team trials. Sunday, Gardner swam in the 100-breaststroke at Lucas Oil stadium in Indianapolis and placed 76th in prelims.
Flames softball finishes the year ranked 23rd in the DI Softball top 25. That's the highest end of season ranking in program history. This spring, Liberty went 38-25, won the Conference USA Championship and advanced the NCAA Athens Regional final.
And the Lady Flames tennis team lands four rankings in the final 2024 ITA Regional year end rankings. Liberty finished eighth as a team, while Julie Parra-Romero was 11th in singles. Esther Lovato was 18th in singles and the doubles pair of Tiffany Nguyen and Parra-Romero were ranked ninth.
