Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, July 29, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Starting with women's soccer – after winning last year's Conference USA title, the Lady Flames are back on campus and preparing for the season opener. Liberty will first get a tune-up at East Carolina in an exhibition one week from Wednesday. The season officially starts on August 15th when Liberty visits High Point. Returning all-conference forward Ivy Garner likes the feel of this year's club.
"Well, this team is really special. We have 10 new freshmen. So, that's real exciting. That's like a third of our team this year. So, that's going to be real interesting to see how they kind of blend in to the returners that we have but all of our players have great character, great girls, hard workers. I think everyone has the ability to make a huge impact on this team and it's going to be a really special season."
And we're now just 33 days away from Flames football! Liberty hosts Campbell on August 31st at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg.
