A year ago, Liberty football's defense led the nation in tackles for loss and allowed just under 25 points per game in an eight-win season. This year, the Flames return just three starters on defense and have an entirely new coaching staff led by Jamey Chadwell. New defensive analyst Teddy Gallagher says success for this unit begins with playing hard.
"Effort is absolutely non-negotiable. Your 100 percent effort is the price of admission to get on the field. If you give anything less than that you're not getting on the field and so, you're going to see guys that are going to play hard for their teammates, play hard for this university and you're going to see guys flying around on Saturdays."
