Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this this Monday, January 20, 2025, I'm Nick Pierce.
Beginning with men's hoops – the Flames are coming off a win over the top team in Conference USA. Saturday, Liberty handed New Mexico State it's first league loss, 68-60, was the final in Lynchburg. With the win, the Flames move to 3-3 in CUSA and head coach Ritchie McKay ties Jeff Meyer for the most wins in program history with 259.
From women's hoops, the Lady Flames are now alone in first place in Conference USA after getting another win on the road. Saturday in Las Cruces, Liberty topped New Mexico State, 82-72. Liberty is now 5-1 in the league.
Men's tennis – Liberty opened the spring season at home with a 6-1 win over Richmond this past Saturday. The Lady Flames dropped their first road match on Sunday, 6-1 at Clemson. Liberty's now 1-2 after splitting a doubleheader on Friday, losing 4-3 to Elon and winning 4-0 over Longwood.
