Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, December 9, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
First in men's hoops – Liberty is now 9-1 on year after the Flames got another win at home this past Saturday. Liberty breezed by Mississippi Valley State, 89-52. Kaden Metheny led the way with a season-high six three's and a season-high 22 points. Flames Head Coach Ritchie McKay is now six wins away from tying Jeff Meyer for the most of any head coach in Liberty program history.
The Lady Flames are also coming off a win at home on Saturday, as Liberty topped CAA preseason favorite North Carolina A&T, 56-51. Next, Liberty will host crosstown foe Randolph College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
And Flames football continues it's preparations for the Bahamas Bowl. Liberty will take on Buffalo in Nassau on January 4th. The Flames are looking for their fourth bowl win in six tries.
