Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, December 4, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Flames are headed to the Fiesta Bowl! Sunday, it was announced 23rd-ranked Liberty will face No. 8 Oregon in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl on January 1st at 1 p.m. Eastern, marking the first-ever appearance for the Flames in a New Year's Six bowl! Flames Head Coach Jamey Chadwell watched the bowl announcement show with his team, live on ESPN.
"Seeing that logo in the Fiesta Bowl, versus who we're playing, because you didn't know if it was going to happen or not - there was just exhilaration. There was joy. There was emotions, there was tears – because of where you come from, right? I think when you come from smaller levels and you don't necessarily think you even have the opportunity to do something like this and it opens up and you get that opportunity. it's just a special moment."
