Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, December 2, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Starting with football – after falling short of the Conference USA title game, the Flames are now waiting to see where they'll be playing their sixth straight bowl game. Liberty ended it's regular season with a 20-18 loss at Sam Houston on Friday. The Flames are now 8-3 and finished 5-3 in Conference USA. Bowl game pairings and College Football Playoff brackets will be announced this Sunday.
On to basketball, Liberty's men are now 8-1. Friday, the Flames won their fifth-straight game as Liberty downed Central Penn, 93-36, at Liberty Arena in Lynchburg. Flames Head Coach Ritchie McKay is now seven wins away from tying Jeff Meyer for the most of any head coach in program history.
And the Lady Flames also rolled at home. Saturday, Liberty throttled Christopher Newport, 106-58. That's the most points ever scored by the Lady Flames in a game at Liberty Arena.
