Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, December 11, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
Recapping the weekend, the Flames men's basketball team suffers it's first home loss of the season. Saturday, Grand Canyon edged Liberty, 69-64 in Lynchburg. Next, Liberty will host Tennessee State on Wednesday night at eight o'clock, part of a doubleheader with the women's team.
Speaking on the Lady Flames, Sunday Liberty gave NC State all it could handle but the third-ranked Wolfpack held on for a 80-67 win. Next, Liberty will host Radford in the first half of Wednesday's doubleheader with the men's team. Liberty and Radford will tip off at 6 p.m.
And Flames Head Football Coach Jamey Chadwell is a semifinalist for the Munger College Coach of the Year award. Other semifinalists include Alabama's Nick Saban, Texas' Steve Sarkisian, Washington's Kaleb Deboer and New Mexico State's Jerry Kill. Finalists will be announced December 21st.
