Liberty Athletics is mourning the loss of one of it's own today. Flames football player Tajh Boyd has passed away. Boyd was an offensive lineman from Chesapeake, Va., and was entering his freshman season at Liberty. In part of a joint statement, Liberty Head Football Coach Jamey Chadwell and Athletics Director Ian McCaw said, 'We thank God for bringing Tajh into our Liberty Athletics community and we will always remember him as a Flame." Also saying, "Boyd's impact on the program will be felt for years to come."
The Flames are in the midst of fall camp as Liberty prepares for it's season opener against Bowling Green on Saturday, September 2nd in Lynchburg.
And we're now just a week away from the first on-campus athletic events of the fall. Liberty field hockey will host Wake Forest in an exhibition next Monday, August 14th at 1 p.m. in Lynchburg. Also, next Monday, Liberty men's soccer will host Virginia Tech in an exhibition at 6 p.m.
