Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, August 19, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Lady Flames soccer team is off to a 2-0 start. Sunday, Liberty downed Old Dominion, 2-0 in the Flames' home opener. Liberty goalkeepers Peyton Huber and Grace Workman combined for the shutout. Liberty has now won five of it's last seven meetings against ODU. Next, Liberty will host VCU on Thursday at five o'clock.
Also, Thursday the Liberty men's soccer team will kick off it's season against Mount Olive at Osborne Stadium in Lynchburg. Game time is 7:30 Eastern. The Flames are picked second in this year's Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll.
And after Saturday's open scrimmage, Flames football shifts back to morning practices this week. We're now just 12 days away from kickoff! Liberty hosts Campbell on Saturday, August 31st at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg. Kickoff's set for 6 p.m. Eastern.
