Liberty softball gets our front page headline today. The Flames won two of three games this past weekend at UTEP. In the process, Liberty clinched Conference USA's regular season title and earned the top seed in the upcoming Conference USA Softball Championship.
The Flames become the first team since Western Kentucky in 2015 to win the Conference USA regular-season championship in its first season in the conference. Liberty softball currently sits at 31-19 overall and finished conference play at 19-5 and won all eight of their league series.
The Lady Flames finish out their regular-season schedule with four games against top-25 programs. They begin the week with a home game against No. 13 Virginia Tech on Wednesday before heading to Baton Rouge, La., for a three-game series at No. 6 LSU, this coming weekend.
