Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Friday, November 24, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
Beginning with football, 25th ranked Liberty looks to stay undefeated when it visits UTEP for a Conference USA game on Saturday. With a win, the Flames will close out the regular season at 12-0 before hosting next week's CUSA title game. UTEP is 3-8 and has lost it's last four games at home but Flames Head Coach Jamey Chadwell says there's too much at stake to take the miners lightly.
"We're trying to be undefeated. They're trying to make a season and we're going to get their best shot. And if we're not ready to give our best shot then we'll come home with a loss. I believe that. We can't roll the ball out and beat anybody. We have to prepare well."
Saturday's game kicks off at 3:30 Eastern.
And the Flames men's basketball is also looking to stay unbeaten on Saturday. Liberty will return home to host the University of Maryland Eastern Shore at one o'clock inside Liberty Arena. The Flames are 5-0 and playing at home for the first time in nearly three weeks.
