Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Friday, November 17, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
Beginning with Flames basketball at the Myrtle Beach Invitational – the Liberty men stay unbeaten with an 88-74 win over Furman on Thursday night. Liberty had four players in double figures, led by Kyle Rode's 19 points. 3-0 Liberty takes on 4-0 Wichita State tonight at nine o'clock Eastern.
On to football – we're one day away from kickoff as 25th ranked Liberty prepares to host UMass. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 1 p.m. Eastern at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg. The Flames can set a new single-season record for wins with 11.
And four Liberty volleyball players appear on the CUSA All-Conference teams. Madison Blane is a first-team selection and was also named Defensive Player of the Year. Kamryn Bacus, Delaney Dilfer and Kate Phillips were each named to the second team. Liberty is hosting the Conference USA tournament this weekend and faces UTEP today at one o'clock in the quarterfinals.
