Liberty Athletics wins this year's Conference USA Institutional Excellence Award. The award is given to the member-school with the highest GPA during each academic year for all student-athletes in conference-sponsored sports.
Liberty finished the 2023-24 academic year with a 3.36 cumulative GPA, the highest mark among all CUSA members and best year-end mark in athletics department history.
Liberty track junior Indea Cartwright finishes fourth in the Bahamas women's 100 hurdles. The top three finishers all qualified for the Olympics next month in Paris. Cartwright was the top finisher not to qualify for the Olympics but her time of 13.13 in to a headwind is the fastest wind-legal time in program history.
Today, Cartwright is one of three current flames, along with three former flames, who are competing in Olympic trials and national championships. You can see the full list and events at www.LibertyFlames.com.
