Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Friday, January 5, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Lady Flames basketball is at home this weekend for it's first Conference USA game ever. Liberty will host Western Kentucky on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Liberty Arena in Lynchburg. The Lady Flames are 5-10 as head coach Carey Green looks to get his team back on track in conference play.
"A lot of uncertainty we have, going into the conference, but what is certain is we've got a new start after a very grueling - I think it's rated sixth strength of schedule and it feels like it's been worse or tougher than sixth. The fact is we have played four teams that are in the top 20 right now."
Also, Liberty's men are set to open CUSA play Saturday night at Western Kentucky. Tip-off in Bwling Green is set for 6 eastern. You can hear both games Saturday on the Liberty Flames Sports Network from Van Wagner.
