Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Friday, January 3, 2025, I'm Nick Pierce.
Starting with women's hoops – Liberty opens Conference USA play with a win at Western Kentucky. Thursday night, the Lady Flames downed the Hilltoppers, 77-66. Emma Hess paced Liberty with 16 points, 15 of them in the second half. Liberty plays at defending CUSA champion Middle Tennessee on Saturday at four o'clock.
On to men's basketball, Liberty drops it's CUSA opener to Western Kentucky. Thursday night at Liberty Arena, the Hilltoppers edged the Flames, 71-70. Next, Liberty will host Middle Tennessee in a Conference USA clash, Saturday night at six o'clock.
And we're 24 hours away from Flames football at the Bahamas Bowl! Liberty will meet Buffalo on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Nassau. The Flames are looking for their fourth bowl win in six tries. You can see the game on ESPN2. Liberty Flames Sports Network radio airtime is 9:30 Eastern.
