Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Friday, February 28, 2025, I'm Nick Pierce.
Liberty now sits alone atop the Conference USA men's basketball standings. Thursday night in Lynchburg, the Flames topped Jacksonville State, 59-55 to slip past the Gamecocks for first place. Kaden Metheny paced the Flames with 13 points. Jayvon Maughmer and Zach Cleveland were also in double figures. Liberty's now 11-4 in the league with three games to go before the Conference USA tournament. Liberty will host Kennesaw State on Sunday at one o'clock.
The Lady Flames also downed the Gamecocks on Thursday night. Liberty's women got a 71-55 win at Jacksonville State to finish off the season sweep. Liberty's at Kennesaw State on Saturday at two o'clock.
And Flames baseball continues it's road trip today. Liberty opens a three-game series at UNC Wilmington, with first pitch at four o'clock. Liberty Flames Sports Network pregame airtime is at 3:30. Hear it on the Liberty Flames mobile app and www.LibertyFlames.com.
