Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank For this Friday, December 27, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
We're eight days away from the Bahamas Bowl, where Liberty will meet Buffalo on Saturday, January 4th at 11 a.m., the Flames are in their sixth straight bowl game, but the team's last bowl win was in 2021. Sophomore defensive end TJ Bush says that makes this game all the more important.
"We've lost the previous two bowl games here, so, just ending the year with a win is definitely big. You get the trophy; you get the ring and it turns over for the next year with a good start. With us not making the championship and winning it, I definitely want to end the season with at least one ring."
The Flames went 8-3 this year. Liberty is facing a Buffalo team that went 8-4 under first year head coach Pete Lembo. The Bulls feature an All-American linebacker in Shaun Dolac and a 950 yard rusher in Al-Jay Henderson. Liberty is 3-0 all-time against Buffalo.
