Liberty to Face Rhode Island, Richmond in 2026 Greenbrier Tip-Off

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames men's basketball team will face Rhode Island and Richmond in the 2026 Greenbrier Tip-Off in late November.
The six-team tournament will be held Nov. 20-22 at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. The strong field includes: Liberty, Richmond, UAB, Western Kentucky, Rhode Island and George Washington. All games will be played inside Colonial Hall at The Greenbrier.
Liberty's first matchup against the Rhode Island Rams will be on Nov. 20 at 4:30 p.m. Two days later (Nov. 22), the Flames will face Commonwealth foe Richmond at 4:30 p.m. Liberty and Rhode Island will be squaring off for the first time in their program's histories. The Flames and Richmond Spiders will match up for the fifth time. The Spiders hold a 3-1 edge in the series. The two squads have not played since the 2012-13 season.
Of the six teams competing in the tournament, four squads (Liberty, UAB, George Washington and Western Kentucky) won 18 or more games a season ago, with the Flames leading the way with 26 victories.
