As part of the team's preparations for their Thursday night Conference USA game at Kennesaw State, Liberty Head Football Coach Jamey Chadwell met with the media on Monday.
During the media session, Chadwell shared how the Flames handled the open week, plus looked ahead to the road contest against the Owls.
After Chadwell's weekly presser, offensive lineman D.J. Geth and linebacker Derrell Farrar addressed the media from the Media Room inside the Liberty Football Center.
Riding a five-game winning streak, Liberty would clinch bowl eligibility with a victory over the Owls. A win would also move the Flames into a CUSA first-place tie with Jax State at 3-0.
Kennesaw State has defeated Liberty during both of the teams' matchups as CUSA foes, including a 48-42 (2OT) decision in last year's regular-season finale in Lynchburg. The Flames are 2-3 all-time against the Owls with their last head-to-head triumph coming in 2016.
Jamey Chadwell is 30-14 in his fourth season at Liberty and owns a 61-20 coaching record dating back to the start of 2020. He is 9-2 in October contests with the Flames and 12-1 in Thursday games at the Division I level.
Running back Evan Dickens went for 267 yards and four scores on the ground against Kennesaw State last season. Despite his absence from this year's roster, the Flames have reeled off four straight games with 200-plus rushing yards. Kam Davis spearheads the rushing attack with 524 yards and four scores.
Liberty's defense has held four straight opponents below the 20-point mark. The Flames are now 13-0 when doing so under Jamey Chadwell. Liberty has been especially stingy in the fourth quarter, outscoring opponents 63-14 during the final 15 minutes thus far in 2026.
