
Three Lady Flames Awarded CUSA Tennis Player of the Week Awards

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty women's tennis' Milana Tsulygina (CUSA Athlete of the Week), along with Yoanna Raulova and Maria Turchetto (CUSA Doubles Pair of the Week), were recognized with the Conference USA Women's Tennis Players of the Week awards, the conference announced Wednesday.
The honors represent the first CUSA awards for Liberty women's tennis this year.
The athletes helped lead Liberty to a pair of sweeps at home last week with a 4-0 triumph over Bellarmine and a strong 7-0 performance hosting new CUSA foe, Delaware. The Lady Flames improved to 3-1 in the young season.
A true freshman, Tsulygina has impressed since joining the Lady Flames earlier this month. The UFA, Russia native has slotted in at No. 5 in the singles lineup and has complied a 3-1 record. Last week, she topped Bellarmine's Lillie Willis 6-0, 6-3 and bested Delaware's Lara Russiniello 6-2. 6-2.
Liberty's top doubles pair has spearheaded an impressive doubles performance for the Lady Flames early this season. Radulova and Turchetto own a 3-0 mark this spring (10-3 overall) after besting Bellarmine's top pair 6-3 before ousting Delaware and CUSA's ITA Conference Master's Championship representatives, Hrynashka and Jurkowska 6-3. Liberty is 9-2 in doubles after four matches this season.
The Lady Flames have the week off before setting off for a pair of road contests at George Washington (1-0) on Feb. 6 and at Navy on Feb. 7 (4-0).
