Wai Shines as Liberty Closes Fall Season at Wofford Invite

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Liberty concluded the 2025-26 fall season at Wofford this weekend. Liberty finished the event with an impressive 16-6 record with a 9-4 singles mark and a 7-2 doubles record. Candy Wai went unbeaten with a 6-0 record between singles and doubles.
Wai, a junior transfer addition, won her draw with two two-set triumphs and needed a third set against Furman's Bianca Ceroni for a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (7) triumph in the final. Wai improves to 13-3 overall this fall with a 6-2 singles mark and a squad-best, 7-1 doubles record.
Two other Lady Flames, Yoanna Radulova (5-2) and Maria Turchetto (5-2), secured at least five overall wins.
Celina Joseph concludes the fall season with a team-best 8-5 singles record. Two Lady Flames, Radulova and Turchetto, finished the fall with seven singles wins.
Turchetto (7-4) shared the team lead with seven doubles victories this season.

Liberty will open the spring season on the road with meetings at South Alabama and last season's No. 8-ranked Auburn. The matches are set for Jan. 17 and Jan. 18 in Auburn, Ala.
