LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames and Men's Basketball Head Coach Ritchie McKay have announced the signing of Reece Davidson for the 2026-27 school year.
Davidson, a three-star recruit, is a 6-8 forward from London, Ky. who attends North Laurel High School.
"We are so fortunate to add Reece to our basketball program and our campus. He's got size and versatility in his game that could immediately impact us," McKay said. "He has been tremendously well-coached in high school by the same coach who coached Kyle Rode – Nate Valentine."
Davidson was a first team all-state, all-region and all-district selection as a junior during the 2024-25 season for North Laurel and earned 13th Region Tournament MVP honors. He averaged 21.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game for the season while leading his squad to a 49th District title, 13th Region crown and Elite 8 appearance at the KHSAA state tournament. At the state tournament, he averaged 38.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg and 3.5 bpg.
During his junior campaign, Davidson was an all-region second team honoree and averaged 14.8 ppg and 5.3 rpg for the Jaguars. As a freshman, he was tabbed 13th Region Newcomer of the Year and helped his squad win region and district titles.
Davidson has also competed for Midwest Basketball Club since 2023.
Davidson is the third announced signee in the Liberty class, joining Eli Sancomb (Wheeling, W.Va.) and Eli Herbert (Grain Valley, Mo.).
