11/1/2025 8:43:00 PM | Football
Liberty, whose last game was 18 days ago on the same field against New Mexico State (Oct. 14), evens its record at 4-4 on the season and moves to 3-1 in Conference USA play. The Flames have now won three games in a row for the first time in 2025.
Delaware has lost three of its last four games, falling to 4-4 on the year and 2-3 in its first year as a member of Conference USA.
The Flames finished the game with a season-high 561 total offensive yards and scored their most points in a game under third-year head coach Jamey Chadwell.
Liberty also returned to what has led to Chadwell's success on the field – running the football. The Flames rushed for a season-high 282 yards and scored six times on the ground.
Chadwell-coached teams have now rushed for 200 or more yards in 103-of-190 games (54.2 percent) with him on the sidelines as a head coach.
The standout in the rushing performance was Dicken's career-high four touchdowns, matching the most scored by a Flames since Williams Stadium opened in 1989. He finished with a career-high 22 carries and a career-best 217 yards on the ground.
Quarterback Ethan Vasko had one of his best games as a Flame, completing 14-of-20 passing attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns.
Vasko's top target continues to be wide receiver Donte Lee, Jr. The wide receiver finished the game with five receptions for a career-best 92 yards. He scored his fourth touchdown as a Flame and came within inches of getting a second score.
Derrell Farrar paced the Flames' defense with seven tackles, while cornerback Amarian Williams had five tackles and an interception, his fifth pick as a Flame.
The Flames' win today:
- Gives the Flames their first three-game winning streak since the team opened November with three straight victories in 2024 (Nov. 9-23).
- Marks the team's seventh straight Homecoming triumph, moving Liberty's Homecoming record to 37-14 overall and 15-3 in the last 18 years.
- Improves the team's all-time record against CUSA opponents (at time of meeting) to 26-5, including 17-4 since the Flames joined the conference in 2023.
- Boosts the Flames' home record at Williams Stadium to 3-1 this season, 16-2 under Jamey Chadwell and 40-8 since joining FBS.
- Gives the Flames an 8-1 record in November games under Jamey Chadwell.
- Marks Jamey Chadwell's 25th victory at Liberty (in 34 games), making him the second fastest Flames coach to reach the milestone. Hugh Freeze's 25th win came in his 33rd contest.

- The Blue Hens did manage to piece together another nine-play, 50-yard drive during the final 100 seconds of the half. The drive ended on Reed's third field goal of the half and another 42-yarder to give Liberty a 28-9 edge at the break.
- On the second play of the third quarter, Dickens showcased his speed, getting to the outside and running down the sideline for a 72-yard touchdown. The running back's fourth rushing touchdown of the game extended Liberty's lead to 35-9 just 30 seconds into the third quarter.
