LYNCHBURG, Va. – Former Liberty Flames men's basketball player Blake Preston has signed his first professional contract with Yamaguchi Pats Five in Japan.
"Liberty definitely prepared me to be ready for the pro level in my approach to the game," Preston said. "I'm grateful for who Coach McKay and the staff shaped me to be during my time there and got everything out of my time in the program that a player could dream of."
Yamaguchi Pats Five is based in Ube, Yamaguchi, Japan. The team competes in the Japan B3-League.
Preston, a forward from Charlotte, N.C., played for Liberty for four seasons (2019-13) and helped the Flames to two ASUN titles (2020, 2021), three regular season crowns (2020, 2021, 2023) and a divisional title (2022).
