Barrett Named CUSA Male Field Athlete of the Week

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Thanks to a triumph in the Virginia High Performance men's shot put competition, Liberty All-American Warren Barrett has been tabbed the CUSA Male Field Athlete of the Week.
This marks Barrett's third time winning the honor but the first during the outdoor season. He was named CUSA Male Field Athlete of the Week twice indoors (Jan. 16 and Jan. 30).
A redshirt senior from Montego Bay, Jamaica, Barrett posted his first shot put victory of the season, Sunday at the Virginia High Performance. His winning mark of 61-9 set an outdoor personal best. Barrett now tops the CUSA performance list by more than four feet and ranks No. 26 nationally. He also climbed to No. 3 on Liberty's all-time outdoor shot put list.
The Flames are playing host to the Liberty Twilight Qualifier today and will send some athletes to The Hill City Twilight, Friday at the University of Lynchburg.
Barrett will be back in action at the CUSA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, slated for May 10-12 at Kidd Field in El Paso, Texas.
