Horton, who leads the Flames in home runs, went 3-for-4 and hit his seventh and eighth round-trippers of the year in the contest.
Tanner Marsh, Cam Foster, Camden Troyer John Simmons and Brian McClellin also hit a home run in the game for Liberty. McClellin's home run was a pinch-hit grand slam during the Flames' eight-run sixth inning.
With wins in the first two games, Liberty takes the Conference USA series. The Flames move to 7-1 in CUSA action and 15-15 overall. New Mexico State drops to 1-7 in conference and 11-18 overall.
