LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty men's basketball program has added Owen Aquino for the 2024-25 academic year.
Aquino is a 6-8 forward who played for Eastern Florida State College for the past two years and has two years of eligibility remaining.
"Owen comes from a terrific junior college program. It's been a long time since I recruited a junior college player," said Liberty Men's Basketball Head Coach Ritchie McKay. "From the moment I first saw him, I thought his game would really fit for the way we play. I think he impacts winning in so many different ways, and we really look forward to his presence in our program."
Aquino hails from Madrid, Spain. While at Eastern Florida State in Cocoa, Fla., Aquino was named a NJCAA Division I All-America first team honoree and Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Citrus Conference Player of the Year this past season after averaging 14.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
