The lone Liberty athlete to compete during the final day of the Mt. SAC Relays, Saturday at Hilmer Lodge Stadium, Kevin Nedrick placed 14th in the elite men’s shot put with a season-best mark of 58-6.
Nedrick’s top mark of the day, which came on his third and final attempt, will punch his ticket to the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round meet in a second event. The discus All-American is already heading to Jacksonville in that event and had won the Bryan Clay Invitational men’s discus title on Friday.
Nedrick was part of a loaded field which was topped by Arizona’s Jordan Geist with an NCAA-leading 69-8.75 performance.
