Three Liberty women’s track & field athletes won events at the Aggie Invitational, Saturday at Marcus T. Johnson Track. The Lady Flames’ victors included Kali Grayson (javelin), Taylen Langin (pole vault) and Megan Mann (discus).
Reigning ASUN Women’s Field Athlete of the Week Mann led a 1-2-3 sweep of the women’s discus by Liberty sophomores. Mann reached 149-6 for the victory, followed by classmates Sofia Mojica (season-best 147-3) and Annika Hantho (146-0).
Hantho later hurled the hammer a personal-best 162-5 for another third-place finish. Meanwhile, Mann placed inside the top six of her other two events, including the hammer (fifth, 154-9) and shot put (sixth, 43-8.5).
Grayson has now won two of her three women’s javelin competitions since returning from injury. Her season-best 132-4 effort on Saturday captured top honors by more than 14 feet. Freshman teammate Mackenzie White followed in fifth place at 113-0.
Taylen Langin (12-9.5) and Emory Pafford (11-5.75) made it a 1-2 Liberty finish in the women’s pole vault competition.
